Hands On! Upcoming workshops for adults

As part of the ‘Hands On Windmill Gardens’ mural project, we are inviting you to take part in one of two upcoming creative workshops.

On Saturday January 19th and Saturday February 9th from 12 to 2pm, we’ll hold a series of creative writing and drawing activities at the one o’clock club. These activities will be energetic and fun, and there is no need for any previous experience or skills in either writing or drawing!

We want to hear your thoughts about the past, present and future of Brixton Windmill and Windmill Gardens. Camila Cardenosa, the artist leading the mural project, will use elements of the stories and images we create during the workshops, and they will be incorporated into the final design for the mural.

It is essential to the outcome of this project that we collect thoughts and stories from people who have been involved with the windmill over the years, who have memories of the windmill’s past, and visions of the windmill’s future. We really hope you can join us!

There are 12 spaces available at each workshop. Please email slawlor@lambeth.gov.uk to book a place for either date. Light refreshments will be served.
